Constitution : The basis of any system of government, democratic or otherwise, is its Constitution. A Constitution is the vehicle of a Nation's progress. It is a legal and social document. In democracy, however, Constitution has a special significance. Modern writers view the Constitution as a scheme for the arrangement of power-relationship inside a community. The basis of a Constitution lies in a belief in limited government. In a democracy, however, Constitution has a special significance. Still, writers differ as to the precise meaning of the term Constitution. Its general nature may be understood by examining some of the authoritative statements of eminent writers.
